The story so far…
2009 is a milestone for Flintshire Caravan Sales with the company celebrating its 37th year of trading and opening of a stunning new showroom and service centre.
Life for the company began in nearby Rhosesmor near Mold.
In 1972 Ray Jones started buying all types of caravans. Although at the time he supplied mainly static caravans, Ray saw the opportunity for selling Tourers, with full after- sales support, servicing and repair.
So in 1977, Ray purchased the 4-acre site at Station Road, selling new and used touring caravans. (The current site was previously a transport yard).
In 1983, Paul Jones joined the business to form a partnership with his father that has lasted nearly twenty five years. Together with Ray the family helped build the business to the success it is today.
In 1989, there was more expansion, with the building of a purpose built indoor showroom on the 4 acre site, so setting the scene for what Flintshire Caravans has become today.
The showroom and site has continuously been remodeled to accommodate the developing range of stock on offer.
In 1992, Paul's wife, Andrea joined the company to develop the administrative side of the growing business.
More recently, in 2000, the development of an on-site shop offering ‘everything to make a caravan work’, has proved a valuable addition to Flintshire Caravans aftersales services.
The developing sales team, consists of Ray Beddows, Wayne Challinor, Cavan Molloy and Graham Nixon, with Gwyn Jones and Brian shaw
looking after our awning department.
In 2006, the greatest step was the huge investment in the massive extension to the current showroom (20,000 sq ft) and dedicated service facility (10,000 sq. ft).
The brand new building was specifically designed to offer premier facilities for all our loyal customers.
Summer 2008 saw the opening of the extended Showroom, new Service & Repair Centre, offering even better service, choice and value.
Summer 2008 proved to be a milestone year for Flintshire with the inclusion of Bristol based manufacturer - Bailey Caravans. This provides customers with more choice and value and has proved to be a huge success.
Today Flintshire Caravans employ in excess of 29 people. They work alongside Ray, Paul, and Andrea, (also Paul’s young son who helps in the leisure shop during the school holidays), to provide a service second to none!
Flintshire continues to exetend its hand of friendship to the local communityand support local businesses and charities.
Certainly, Flintshire has grown considerably in just 37 years, although we are happy to say we have never lost sight of the reasons for this growth, which is the relationship we have with our valued customers, and loyal suppliers. With this support and loyalty, we have been able to become one of the largest retailers of new and used touring caravans and equipment in the North of England.
